When we talk about fit in scholarly publishing, we are often referring to whether a book is a “good fit” for a press. However, it is just as important for scholars to consider if the press is a good fit for them. Some questions that can help you decide are these three: Does this press publish in my field now? Does it attend my field’s major conferences? Has this press published books like mine in the past? The answers to these questions should be available on the press’s website.
